Spooner Creek is the work of Wisconsin artist Michael Macone. He was headed for a career as a painter when his high school art instructor introduced him to clay. 30 years later he is still passionate about pottery and he passes on his enthusiasm every chance he gets. He has won numerous awards exhibiting in the nations top art and craft fairs, and his work is in collections around the world. Michael developed a unique process that etches his designs right into the clay rather than just the surface with a silkscreen or a decal. This gives his pottery a dimensional quality that can be appreciated with the hand as well as the eye. All colors are hand glazed by his artists and each piece is kiln fired twice to nearly 2000 degrees for lifetime durability indoors and out.
